Red Dead Redemption has taken the gaming masses to frenzy by absolutely nailing the Western atmosphere bringing it to new heights and creating one of the most satisfying and most fun games around. Red Dead Redemption packages a complete game that manages to shed attention on details amidst a massive scale.

It is the classic Wild West setting that has an addition of more stunningly detailed layers over the original Red Dead. Red Dead Redemption brings about a story that will take you over to a vast countryside and a fantastic cast of supporting characters who helps Marston performs and delivers spectacular gunfights. The dialogues and voice acting are wonderful enough to make you feel become a vital part of their world.

However, Red Dead Redemption contains one flaw in which there is an occasional bug or hiccup visually seen on screen. The story takes a little while to get going. Nonetheless, even this failure feels remarkably fresh. It’s certainly not a focal point of the experience; the game is still enjoyable enough to keep you going and its due in large part to the absolutely amazing voice acting and facial animations during the real-time cinematic sequences.

Some people are confused on which version, a PS3 or a 360, to get. When it comes to graphical advantage, Xbox 360 got it. The graphics are sharper and with less aliasing. In the opening section, you actually visualize the clear faces of the characters. In addition, it also contains 16 Ars Technica members in the game’s thread playing online. This is very good for those persons who don’t like to play with strangers. On the other hand, the version of Red Dead Redemption in PlayStation 3 has some noticeable jump in quality. However, this does not make the version bad. In fact, the totality of the version is still impressive.

God of War is a series fueled by revenge. Krato’s, after losing the title as the God of War, every inch of brain cells is occupied with the passion of killing Zeus and annihilating the existence of the forces of Olympus. This is the only driving force, the raw motivation of Krato’s in conquering impossible odds. Krato’s knows no death. Destiny and time are like mists that disappear in the air. No one can stop him as he plunge on fulfilling his mission amidst the other gods, the Titans, and the thousands of poor, innocent Greeks.

The plot succession of God of War series thickens and leads to a climactic ending in God of War III, providing more depth beyond the ordinary theme of revenge. It bears close resemblance to the traditional Greek tragedies. God of War III is a product of refinement and elaboration. The basic approach, together with the battle plan remains essentially untouched. In comparison to the previous games, the combat attacks of God of War III have increased in speed and finesse.

The flow of the game of the God of War III is much more smooth and understandable as the puzzles’ quantity and complexity have been reduced. They’re not particularly intricate or difficult compared to the last game. In fact, the solutions are practically handed down to you. On the other hand, the scale and intensity of the combat have become so grandeur, bigger and more incredible. The game takes place on a scale that is overwhelming and mesmerizing to every player. It transports you to a world of highly polished and vivid graphics bringing your emotions to its maximum height.

The only downside of God of War III is that the added weaponry bears similarities with the default blades and there is under-utilization of some of the abilities.

Nonetheless, God of War III offers us an epic story that outshines them all and an exceptional video game that leaves you panting and breathless in the end.

ModNation Racer is more than just a kart racing game with HD graphics. The videogame contains a career mode, various colorful characters in the world of entertainment race against one another and gain for your stable. This is supported by a staggering and amazing amount of tools as well as content. ModNation Racers serves as an epitome of stellar sandbox.

ModNation Racer is composed of two games wrapped into one. The first game is about creativity. You get to design your own car, personal racer and also the tracks upon which to race. It features excellent creation engines that may be the focus of the game aside from racing down the course. Gamers, especially those who like to tinker, will certainly like the creation aspect that it’s more a Lego-like toolset. The vast array of parts and pieces opens up a wide world of possibilities. There is a wide range of content to open and download. Players can share their creations online, uploading cars, racers and tracks for the enjoyment of the ModNation community. The second game focuses now on taking your creations to the death-defying race of a lifetime. The fun race is set in a bright and vibrant background of cute and stylish characters.

ModNation Racer gives you a good sense of being entirely a part in the game’s world where you can feel a real-life racing competition more so when there are awards for the most magnificent top karts and tracks that have been making a sensational race on the PlayStation Network. However, in a single-player mode, the racing mechanics are so unstable. There is frequent drop of framerate which borders to be so annoying. On top of that, there are lots of loading screens. The racing aspect feels like it was put together simply to show off the creations and nothing more. The game fails to hold up.

It offers various features and more strategic and team-based change of pace.

You can immediately see the improvements in bad Company 2 over the previous game. Take for instance, the dialogues are very excellent with occasional quotable banter and they are delivered with some superb voice acting and detailed deadpan animation. This results to a mix of good laugh and a good, thrilling adventure. In addition, the game ensures that the comeback of the Company B squad is more mature and intense as single player experience where the stakes are higher than ever.

Players can compete in 4-player teams in 2 exclusive squad-only game modes, playing together in combat to unlock exclusive team awards and achievements which may range from an extensive range of pins, insignias and kits weapons and vehicles among others. All these can be used to fine-tune their preferred fighting style to give the edge in combat. Moreover, the virtual environments in Bad Company 2 are much larger and more diverse than those in Modern Warfare 2.

The presentation is more of cinematic and epic touch that has been successfully achieved. It has a solid shooting mechanics and a superb multiplayer combat approach. The graphical backdrops are gorgeous with the destructible environment fitting nicely to the welcome chaos. It is the firefights that play to the improved demolition engine that assumes the weight of the game.

All aspects of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 successfully comes together in the most deliberate and thoughtfully crafted way. All the features are combined to deliver spectacular and unpredictable action moments that are not found anywhere else in a modern warfare experience. It makes an invigorating benchmark for a genre that is polluted with complacency.

The creation of Super Mario has been given sufficient attention and commitment by the Nintendo Entertainment System. In 2007, the 3D Mario design was revamped with Super Mario Galaxy. Soon after that Super Mario Bros. Wii was introduced and became a big hit in the market as it contains much creativity and challenge. Today, with Super Mario Galaxy 2 Wii, the game is overwhelmingly amazing.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 Wii reputation precedes itself. Its predecessor Super Mario Galaxy, on which this new video game was patterned and anchored, hit it big in the past and wowed so many fans around the globe. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a creation of masterful Wii out from the mistakes and refinement of the last video. The definitive element of Nintendo’s Galaxy 2 blueprint, however, is that it’s technically the second part of a learning curve that the original game kicked off. This means that it has also the same level of difficulty. It still contains the same creativity and willful challenge, but with new directions of gameplay and sharp add-ons.

The new version of Super Mario Galaxy has various and multi-faceted gameplay styles and perspectives as well as level designs. Sometimes the contorting challenges and the game’s instant change of gravity and physics render the player in bafflement. Nonetheless, the pacing remains perfect, being able to simultaneously deliver several fronts of multiple and smooth difficulties, in the midst of its loose structure.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 offers brilliant, imaginative worlds that looks so stunning and contains fantastic power-ups that will keep you pre-occupied for weeks. Nintendo has done a great job in making the sequel of Super Mario Galaxy burning with intensity and brilliance. It does possess the same spirit of fun leaving you breathless during and in the end.

The series of Final Fantasy has stood as a seemingly lasting epitome of Japanese role-playing games. It is one of the most renowned names in the videogame world with its amazing characters and detailed stories as well as its intrepid battle systems.

The presentation of Final Fantasy XIII is unbelievably gorgeous with polished, excellent graphics of high definition. Various stunning cutscenes in terms of graphics and action direction punctuate the intoxicating array of fantastic in-game environments. The sound effects, Voice-acting and dialogue are effortlessly impressive. Most of all, the gameplay itself is genuinely fun which combines frantic speed with plenty of rewards.

In Final Fantasy XIII, the character of the sharp-eyed Lightning takes the lead role among other five different characters. The game gives you the ability to manipulate all the characters at different times and allows you to switch from one group to another as frequently as you want. The creative use of flashbacks together with the multi-faceted approach of the story makes Final Fantasy XIII quite exhilarating and enjoyable.

Any videogame in the market has always its own share of problem. The flaw of Final Fantasy XIII lies in its well-known linearity. It might not be irritating to newbie players but for those Final Fantasy veterans, this is something that is very annoying. It would be so boring to encounter dungeons after dungeons through various environments. On top of this, the players are only given the liberty choose their leader and members after Chapter 10.

This series also lacks a bookmark and a New Game plus options. It fails to let you go back and experience once again the previous sections of the game without starting from scratch.

Final Fantasy XIII is one great videogame despite its known flaws. Allowing yourself to have a few hours of playing the game may result to an extended experience of fun and sheer pleasure.

For the past several years, the Call of Duty series has set the standard for an immersive and action-packed gaming in the industry. Modern Warfare 2 continues to take you to an unquestionable and bona fide world tour as players are intent on battling against a new threat dedicated to bringing the world to the verge of collapse. The tour ranges from Kazakhstan’s stealth based levels moving on to rescuing hostages from a heavily guarded oil rig to dusty roads of Afghanistan; from snowy mountaintops in Siberia to the crowded streets of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Modern Warfare 2 redefines the boundary of today’s modern warfare.

As the name implies, Modern Warfare 2 is not the most traditional game of the series. It features three camps for game play which contains an overwhelming amount of content, each unique from the other, giving three completely different experiences all in one. Modern Warfare 2 offers online competition for more intense combat, full co-op Spec Ops mode gaining allies with other players, and a choice of single-handedly facing the threat alone. The call is yours. Despite having well over double the amount of total content, Modern Warfare 2 retains its strategic feel across the board. It highlights complex terrain in the setting, utilizes weather effects and destructible objects, and many others, making its visual effects greatly improved from the others.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is definitely one of the best first-person shooters out there. The common issues of COD4’s multiplayer have been solved by Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer for better experience. There’s an insane level of depth and strategy as well as more height and diverse route alternatives.

Indeed, Rockstar has given the players the opportunity to roam around the world with limitations of objectives to a small location. The expansion of the borders of your mission moves in a slower pace, hour by hour, making sure that you grow accustomed with the dirt paths and settlements. Modern Warfare 2 is one that gives you exceptional experience to video gaming.

2010 FIFA World Cup is, indeed, a very impressive game of soccer at its true essence. It features the usual happenings you see from a World Cup presentation, from the good ones down to the most irritating ones. Every effort was collaborated in order to come up with a presentation that you don’t feel shortchanged. Despite the unappealing title, the presentation of this video game is one of the most immediately obvious reasons of making the 2010 World Cup stands out from the rest. The newly designed menus with the integration of the globe which is useful in picking teams are an excellent ways to start playing.

The graphics of 2010 FIFA World Cup offer great details on the players and coaches as well as the vast expanse of the field itself. The soundtrack is one that magnetizes you to a far off place.

On the other hand, the major downfall of 2010 FIFA World Cup has something to do with the game’s setup. It gives little permission to personalize your video game experience which is rather sad because every other sports title in the market permits individual players to customize different parts of the opposing AI.

Another negative aspect deals with the artificial intelligence that governs CPU-controlled players. These players are rather laid back when it comes to a loose ball landing just a few feet away from them. If the pass is not intentionally done for them, they certainly won’t give any reaction. They play as hard as they do in making effective defense, but this same raucousness is not seen in getting loose balls.

The overall presentation, though, of 2010 FIFA World Cup is strong. It is a perfect setting for the real World Cup experience. However, flexibility in some of its aspects is definitely needed to make it more exhilarating and fun.

The Splinter Cell: Conviction of Tom Clancy has a troubled development which renders it as probably the most divisive game in the franchise’s history. The production was stopped at some versions in order to align Sam’s character to the basic plan of the series. However, the end result still contains some versions departing from the series.

The story is an amalgamation of different seasons of 24. The general theme of The Splinter Cell: Conviction is absolute anger. Sam, after knowing that the death of his daughter was not really an accident, but a calculated personal attack, he burst into a futile rage and intense conviction of finding out the truth and searching for those people who were responsible to pay.

Unlike with the previous titles in which you hid in the dark to avoid the enemy and avoid confrontation, Conviction is different in a way that in this game you hide in the dark as the hunter, not the hunted, stalking your prey and striking at the most opportune moment. This signifies a complete role reversal for Sam.

The most excellent additional aspect of the game is the “Mark and Execute” mechanic in which the player is allowed to tag enemies that when successfully done together with hand-to-hand maneuver, a single button press downs the marked targets automatically. On the other hand, the interactive interrogation scenes are nice and good to look at, but they are not as detailed and in-depth as they should be. The very famous interrogations are a missed opportunity.

The Splinter Cell: Conviction taken as one package has very good animations and gritty but excellent environments. Though the framerate drops at some occasions, but it does not affect the overall performance of the game.

Just Dance is simply like that, just dance. The menus are low rented and limited, trying to pull off old tricks like “Quick Play” and “Classic” modes that are still the same. There is no highly organized gameplay presentation, no complexities and difficulties that might challenge the gamer. Just Dance borders to being boring especially to those hard core gamer.

There are four modes of play, and each mode can accommodate up to four people playing at the same time, each using just a Wii Remote, no dance pads or mat required. There are various game modes available, but the basic gameplay revolves around the player placing a Wii Remote in hand and then copying exactly the same moves of an on-screen dancer. The more vigorous you dance, the better your points will be. The rates vary from Great, OK or X for each dance move.

A filling bar symbolizes your overall performance as a dancer. If you were able to earn Great rated moves in sequence, then you will also earn extra combo points. It also features 32 different dance songs to choose from. The songs span a variety of genres including disco, pop, rock, etc. from yesterday and today.

The downside of this game is the inconsistency it has in its rating of the moves executed. For instance, some moves being marked earlier as Great do not score you the same thing seconds later when you execute exactly the same motion. It does not always recognize your moves which is rather bad. But then considering the amount of moves the game is asking you to perform, this is not a surprise. This negative aspect of the game surely breaks the integrity of the game’s mechanics.

Just Dance Wii is a game for anyone who enjoys dancing. It has a great track list, good dance routines and fun for all ages.
